T-shirts to help fund Saskatchewan Libraries!

On March 23rd, 2017, the Saskatchewan government released the provincial budget. It was a tough budget that cut out a lot of key programs in the province. One of them being a cut in funding of $1.3 million for Regina and Saskatoon libraries and a 58% cut to seven of eight regional library systems. Total cuts will be $4.8 million.
So far, this budget has caused layoffs in several regions as well as the discontinuation of the interlibrary loan system. This loan system enabled people to borrow and return books from all over the province. Unfortunately, with the cuts and the fact that the books were transported on the STC (Saskatchewan Transportation Company) that was also discontinued, this program was forced to be shut down.
Libraries are more than just buildings that house books. Libraries are a vital support to communities by providing a safe place to read, find information, have access to the internet, photocopiers, apply for jobs, and even borrow e-books online. Did you know you can go and learn how to 3D print at the Regina Public Library?
In response to this budget Tall Grass Apparel is releasing several shirts with $10 from every sale going towards Saskatchewan Libraries. If you wish to carry any of these shirts to sell locally please contact us and let us know.
