The North American House Hippo commercial was first introduced in 1999, in an effort to educate children (and some adults) about how easy it can be for media to convince us of something that is not true. The House Hippo 2.0 commercial was re-introduced to a new generation in 2019, when "fake news" was becoming more of an issue in our society.
Having a House Hippo as a pet is definitely intriguing, however, not an option!
